Milford Pre School Garden Makeover

Published on 2015-10-04 by Gill Hickman

Milford Pre-School’s reputation for gardening is the stuff of local legend. With RHS School Gardening Award level 5 the school can be justifiably proud and the number of families turning out for the school’s autumn garden clear provided great evidence of the way in which success breeds success. Many hands did indeed make light work.

The plot received a great makeover as annual flowering plants were removed, ground was dug over, shrubs were pruned, lavender cut back (somewhat controversially). Children joined in with several enjoying the freedom of the adjacent school playground and with others taking part in gardening. Some simply enjoyed the discovery of animals such as bees, butterflies and ladybirds in the garden. Milford Pre-school has an Eco-Schools Silver Award and is romping its way towards a Green Flag.
