MIlford PreSchool reach SILVER

Published on 2015-05-19 by Gill Hickman

How can children of three years old take Minutes? Just one of the problems that Sarah Rix managed to overcome with some creative thinking! Children certainly contribute to the Minutes even if all can't write. Likewise, children designed this noticeboard!

MIlford PreSchool Grow

The pre-school excels at gardening and has reached RHS School Gardening Level 5! Evidence is all around the grounds as is evidence for Sarah's improvements in biodiversity. The children enjoy pond dipping in the 'Big School' pond; there are bug houses and mini habitats, bird boxes, bird feeders and of course, this is a Grow Wild School with Seedballs sown in recycled milk bottles and Grow Wild seeds in toddler sized beds. Why the recycled milk bottles? Quite simply because this is a pre-school that is taking recycling seriously.

Milford PreSchool Evidence

The children are energy and water aware too, reminding each other of dripping taps and of the need to turn off lights. This is a pre-school going places.

Iarrived in a hailstorm, something greeted with delight by the children, and as they picked up the balls of ice, they were speaking of 'cold', 'ice' and 'melting'. Brilliant! Well done Sarah and the helpers and children of Milford Pre-School!
