Published on 2016-04-25 by Gill Hickman

Pennington Junior School were proud to open their gardens for Pennington Open gardens on April 24th Thanks to Waitrose’s Grow and Sell, and to the help of members of the PTA the garden had a real makeover: potatoes from the New Forest Food Challenge were dug in, beans, peas, beetroot and courgette seeds were planted in need rows in newly dug raised beds, hedges and grass were trimmed. The garden looked immaculate!

The following Wednesday during gardening club there was watering to be done, bird feeders to be filled and more seeds to be planted. The school is keen to repeat the success of their 2015 wildflower meadow so a team of 6 children carried out some energetic digging. More next week!
